Truth Vs Truthiness

For our JCOM 2010 class we were asked to "research, analyze and compare the 'truth vs truthiness' on the Fox news channel programs to satirical 'reporting' from the Daily Show and Colbert Report."

Truth: The property of being in accord with fact or reality (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

Truthiness: "Truth that comes from the gut, not books"

We chose to compare and analyze coverage of the legalization of marijuana, a topic that has found increasing prominence in the past few years. In November, Colorado and Washington legalized the recreational use of marijuana. Under the eyes of the federal government, however, use of the drug is still illegal. How would legalizing marijuana affect the economy? How would it affect U.S. citizens (young and old)?
